1: Warcraft Release date:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/23507729/enter-the-shadowlands-beginning-october-26
Beyond Azeroth’s shattered sky, a realm of infinite afterlives awaits: the Shadowlands, where mortal souls go to reckon with their pasts, discover new purpose . . . or suffer an eternity of torment. Seize your destiny beginning October 26.
Upon entering the Shadowlands, Azeroth’s champions will encounter an otherworld in disarray. Virtuous souls are being wrongfully cast into the eternal darkness of the Maw, while the Covenants—powerful factions who hold dominion over the afterlife’s disparate realms—face ruin and strife as the flow of the Shadowlands’ essential anima mysteriously dwindles. As an ancient, long-bound evil gathers the strength to break its chains, players must carve their path through the uncharted reaches of the beyond, forge a pact with the Covenant that most aligns with their own principles and purpose—and ultimately restore balance to the hereafter.
Thoughts? Too Soon? Too Late? Just in time?
Eva - As a person coming back to the game, after taking a break during legion, i’m happy to know i have 2 months to get my characters together. To grind out what I've been working on for a while, even before my break. Build up new relationships in the game, and find what interests I am into now. I think the down time before any big xpac release is always filled with mount runs, transmog chasing, and random shenanigans.
Rainna: The selfish side of me that started BFA like 2 months ago was not in a hurry to get BFA out, but the realist in me knows it's about flippin time to get the next expansion out and what a delightful gift to have after such a dumpster fire of a year !

2: SHADOWLANDS AFTERLIFE:
From the Official Warcraft site they announced the first Shadowlands Afterlife animated short video.
We get to go beyond the veil with the new four-part animated shorts, Afterlives, offering us a window into the ancient and powerful Covenants that rule over the four new zones in Shadowlands.
Uther the Lightbringer, Paladin of the Silver Hand, met an untimely demise ... but his service is not done.
When he passes into the afterlife, Devos – a Paragon of Bastion – takes Uther under her wing, only to learn that some mortal wounds run deeper than she could imagine.
THe link to the video is in our show-notes :https://youtu.be/LNSnOAumlB8
What's our thoughts?
Rainna:
My first thought was I'm rolling in the Bastion zone as part of the Kyrian Covenant!
Then I wondered if it was because I loved the Short film of Bastion then I wondered if they would be doing more for each zone then I read that they would be while putting together the show notes SO I AM PUMPED!
And I thought that Devos totally looked like Sharon Stone
When she said “The moment he drops we will claim him”
I wondered why they haven't done more of these in the past .
They have so much lore that I think gets lost in the shuffle. They need to do this more often IMO.
Eva: Bastion looks quite wispy, kinda relaxing in colors. Feels like a world I'm drawn to. I’m curious as to what all is inside the Covenant. Are there quests? What kind of mobs would be in the quests? I am absolutely in love with the color choices of this area . Watching the video gave me goose bumps on my arms, and was quite a twist of what I thought to see. Just the overall emotion portrayed in it was awesome!

RAINNA- If you are like me and have always wanted to know more about the lore without having to read every bit of quest text then there are plenty of books to dive into! There are a total of 23 Warcraft books. 7 are Warcraft series while the other 16 are World of Warcraft series. The hard part is knowing where to begin! And the other hard part is when you search for where to begin you will be inundated with lists created by fans that don't always match up. I have selected two lists.
One is shorter and hits the major areas that can be found at :
The second list is a more thorough list I found off of the eu forums and it can be found here:
Rainna:
I have found that I enjoy listening to them in Audio Format while I color in my Warcraft coloring books to double immerse myself :)
You may want to keep your eyes out for two new Warcraft books that are set to release sometime next year.
They are called:
World of Warcraft: Folk & Fairy Tales of Azeroth Hardcover – April 14, 2021
World of Warcraft: Grimoire of the Shadowlands and Beyond Hardcover – July 14, 2021

4: Shadowlands will be getting rid of reputation requirements for Allied races
In an article on Blizzard watch by By Cory Taylor
https://blizzardwatch.com/2020/08/28/shadowlands-will-getting-rid-reputation-requirements-allied-races/
They published an article stating that they are pretty deep into the beta and have noticed that we will not need the rep to unlock the allied races in Shadowlands according to what they have found. Here's what we know based on their findings:
Starting in Shadowlands you won’t need to reach Exalted reputation with the parent faction in order to start your very own Allied Race characters.
Players have been requesting this change since the beginning of BFA when players expressed they didn't want to have to go back and do legion dailies to unlock the legions allied races.
You will still have to complete the zone storylines for each respective race if you’re looking to unlock them.
The list of the requirements can be found on WOWhead and also in our shownotes.
(You do not have to read this EVA)
Allied Race Unlock Requirements Changed
All Allied Races will be easier to unlock in the Shadowlands pre-patch. The requirement to hit Exalted with a related faction has been removed, leaving only the requirement to complete a related series of zone quests.
The requirements to unlock Allied Races in Shadowlands will be:
Void Elf: You Are Now Prepared!
Lightforged Draenei: You Are Now Prepared!
Nightborne: Insurrection
Highmountain Tauren: Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Dark Iron Dwarf: Ready for War
Mag'har Orc: Ready for War
Zandalari Troll: Zandalar Forever!, Tides of Vengeance
Kul Tiran: A Nation United, Tides of Vengeance
Mechagon: The Mechagonian Threat
Vulpera: Secrets in the Sands
Whats our thoughts?
Rainna:
I was super happy to hear this because being late to the BFA party, tackling that rep grind with the new expansion looming over us caused me great anxiety.
Which is why I think they decided to do that?
Knowing that new players come back every expansion and would have to tackle all of the new content on top of the old content can be such a huge turn off that many would just feel overwhelmed the minute they entered shadowlands.
Eva:
I don’t know if i’m happy, or happier about this! My morning routine lately since hitting revered with Vulpera has been get a cup of morning coffee, sit down and do all the world quests in the Vulpera zone and i’m only a quarter of the way into having it exalted. As much as I do like the discipline that I've had at getting this goal done, it’s still seeming to be about 2 weeks out if I do it every day. Then to still have the other races to unlock, I'd never be set for shadowlands.

What have we been upto?
Eva:
Lots of world quests, had a few fun nights of leveling with a friend that just started the game, Playing a baby gnome warrior.
Rotating between allergies/ and a cold feeling, that has made me tired and with little energy, but just enough to keep going.
It seems to happen in spurts.
Rainna:
This past week has been pretty much solo because I have been down with a sinus infection from all of these horrendous allergies but I am feeling much better today!
Last week we had a blast with some of our guildies in Diminished Expectations!
We started running our lowbies through dungeons and were staying up so late but have too much fun to quit!
We are streaming our shenanigans from our Joint Twitch Stream you can follow it on twitch on https://www.twitch.tv/diminishedexpectations
I have been trying to get all of my lowbies dungeon level and ready to rock in roll on both our Horde guild and Alliance guild.
While I was sick I rolled a Goblin Shaman named Sharainna and had fun reminiscing in the goblin Starter Zone.
I hate to see such an awesome place go to waste and I want the goblin car with the horn and radio instead of the derpy go cart we get in org.
I have been having a great time sharing my screen shots from my adventures with Quotes to put out some positivity into the twitters and instagram under the hashtag #WOWSpiration. I welcome you to join me!
Its been very therapeutic to be flying around azeroth and paying extra attention to places I haven't been and then finding awesome quotes to put with them and then sharing them:) I use a free website called Canva and make them into a twitter post size which oddly enough works great for twitter headers ? WIN WIN!
You can join us if you want ! We are on Alliance Proudmoore and Bleeding Hollow Horde under Diminished Expectations :) All can invite !
