NEW PLAYER HUB

ORIBOS, THE ETERNAL CITY

  • Oribos is the arrival point for all souls who enter the Shadowlands.

  • At this crossroads, the dead are judged by the impassive Arbiter before being sent to their final destinations, and Oribos’ denizens swap gossip and anima—soul stuff that serves as both power and currency.

NEW PLAYER GUIDES

Help New Players in Shadowlands with the Newcomer Guide System

posted 12 days ago by perculia On WowHead and data mined by Redditor u/Monrar for finding the NPC on beta.

So Far we know from the info found in the Shadow Lands Beta:

  • Veteran players can help newer players in Shadowlands through a new guide mentor system.

  • Players that sign up to become a guide in the game will receive a special icon in the world and eligibility to answer questions in the Newcomer Chat channel.

  • To become a Guide, you must meet certain criteria:

  • be level 60 (max level in Shadowlands)

  • complete Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One (bugged on beta), and have your account be in good standing.

WHAT ARE OUR THOUGHTS?

RAINNA

EVA

I can get rewards to have people follow me around? As a holy paladin main i find at max level i get followed around a lot, and i haven’t ever gotten paid. This might come in handy!

I love the transmog idea, special mogs for only guides? And who doesn’t love a discount?

NEW FEATURE

COVENANTS

Shadowlands Wowhead info

Discovering Covenants

  • When you enter the Shadowlands for the first time with your first character at level 50

  • (current 120s will convert to level 50 with the level changes between BfA and Shadowlands), your character will begin by escaping The Maw.

  • You will then quest through the four major zones, each controlled by a different Covenant.

  • The zones and their covenant are:

  • Bastion (Kyrian)

  • Maldraxxus (Necrolords)

  • Ardenweald (Night Fae)

  • Revendreth (Venthyr)

  • When we enter the Shadowlands on our first character for the first time, we will be required to follow the entire storyline.

  • We start in Bastion and progress through Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and end in Revendreth.

  • When we’ve completed this story and have reached level 60 we will be given the choice to align with one of the four Covenants.

  • must align with one of them for the expansion's storylines to progress further.

  • Covenants and Alts

  • Once completed one character from 50-60, through the story and choosing a Covenant, all of the characters we take into the Shadowlands next will have the option of choosing a Covenant right from level 50.

  • Alts aren't required to go through the entire storyline again for every character.

  • We can do the story lines all over again or we can just jump right into a Covenant from the beginning, start working on world quests and jump right into end-game progression. If you do decide to go back and do quests, you will not be required to follow the zone order you had to follow the first time though.

  • We have opportunities to serve our Covenant by returning Anima to them, as well as bringing back souls from the Maw and Torghast.

  • We will also have a Covenant Sanctum to upgrade and level.

The Four Covenants

Covenant systems give:

Full endgame narrative campaign

Two active abilities, one class specific

Endgame progression system: soulbinds

Lots of new cosmetic rewards

BASTION

Those who have lived a life of service are drawn to Bastion to assume the highest duty of all—carrying souls to the Shadowlands. Amongst Bastion’s gleaming spires and sweeping vistas await challenges to test the mettle of the steadfast kyrians.

Kyrian Covenant

Primary Realm: Bastion

Eternal Role: Angelic Soul Guides, tasked with shuttling souls between the lands of the living and the dead

Character: Ordered and purposeful, the Kyrian are called to lives of eternal service. The Kyrian value humility, righteousness, service, and virtue. Those who seek out the Kyrian who aren't yet ready to assume roles to eternal service unburden their souls through meditation and reflection to gain renewed understanding.

EVA

ARDENWEALD

A vibrant afterlife for those closely connected to the wild, Ardenweald is a domain of endless restoration tended by the mystic night fae. Within this eternal forest, massive dream trees draw in precious anima—soul essence—to feed the spirits of nature awaiting rebirth.

Night Fae Covenant

Primary Realm: Ardenweald

Eternal Role: Guardians of Nature, Shepherds of the Cycle of Life and Death

Character: The Night Fae represents the autumn and winter cycles of the Wheel of Life -- the cycle of death and rebirth that comes to all parts of nature. They serve in a similar capacity to the Kyrian to powerful nature souls, guiding them from life to their realms for eventual rest and rebirth. The realms of the Night Fae are the mirror to the Emerald Dream, and parts of their realms are linked strongly to the Drust. Souls with strong ties to the natural world can earn rebirth through this reconnection to all aspects of nature.

Night Fae: Soulshape: instant cast 1.5 minute cooldown: Turn into a spirit fox, increasing movement speed by 30% and causing enemies to ignore you. Lasts 10 sec. Or until cancelled while in a rest area.

If you don’t like the fox appearance you can learn to be a butterfly or a stag.

So limited druid ability???

RAINNA

MALDRAXXUS

Within war-torn Maldraxxus, might—of all kinds—makes right. Here, in the birthplace of necromantic magic, those who master the powers of death turn legions of ambitious souls into relentless undead armies.

Necrolords Covenant

Primary Realm: Maldraxxus

Eternal Role: Military guardians of the Shadowlands, protecting from external forces that wage war on the enemies of Death

Character: Unrelenting and unyielding, the Necrolords are the military arm of the Shadowlands. They can be ruthless, and value all flavors of strength and power -- mental, emotional, and physical. Expect to be sorely tested to join their ranks, as the Necrolords believe in the survival of the fittest, meaning those who can't excel deserve failure and rejection. This can lead to some interpreting Maldraxxus as a realm of evil, but this is not necessarily true. Power, not philosophy, rules here.

Heroic Souls known to exist in Maldraxxus: Draka, mother of Thrall, murdered by Gul'dan's Shadow Council forces shortly after giving birth.

Necrolord: Transcend the Flesh: instant cast, 3 minute cooldown. Separate soul from body for 20 secs, You become invincible and untargetable. But your body remains vulnerable. If you move farther then 60 yards from your body it will cancel. After it ends, your body rejoins with the soul.

So, if you hide your body in pvp, you can run around and do anything…. As long as you don’t go to far, and your body doesn’t die!

EVA

REVENDRETH

A realm of looming keeps and gothic villages, Revendreth is home to the venthyr, the harvesters of sin. The wretched souls who arrive here may find penance for their misdeeds… or merely indulge the appetites of their keepers.

Venthyr Covenant

Primary Realm: Revendreth

Eternal Role: Punishers of the Unworthy

Character: The vampiric Venthyr serve Shadowlands as those who seek out those souls weighed down by the burdens of their flaws -- pride, rapaciousness, greed, apathy. Without the Venthyr to purge them of these burdens and allow them to atone, these souls might have been sentenced to an eternity in The Maw as irredeemable, but for the spark of possible redemption found within them. The Venthyr prepare these souls for one of two fates -- learning to harness their strengths to become a Punisher for the Covenant or lighten their souls to move on to another Covenant to further their eternal journey.

Venthyr: Door of Shadows : 2 sec cast 2 min cool down Wend through the shadows appearing at the targeted location. (go in a specified direction, typically slowly or by an indirect route)

Souls known to exist in Bastion: Kael'thas Sunstrider, former Lord of the Blood Elves, who died in Magister's Terrace after falling from grace following the Legion.

RAINNA

THE MAW

To be cast into the Maw is to be doomed to a bleak eternity. It is a tumultuous, hopeless land where the vilest souls in the cosmos are imprisoned forever. Should the ancient evil chained here break free, all of reality will be consumed.
